LORD’S SUPPER THIS MORNING
Today we will be celebrating the death of our Lord Jesus Christ together in the Lord’s Supper. If you are a Christian visiting us this morning, please join with us.
EVANGELISTIC STRATEGY MEETING NEXT WEEK
After the church service on August 10 there will be a meeting open to any regular ANPC attenders to discuss the role of our church in evangelism. Simon will present the strategy proposed by the elders for discussion with the aim of making ANPC more effective in reaching the non-Christian world. If you are passionate about evangelism or are interested in hearing more, please bring your lunch and plan to come along on August 10.
There will be NO church lunch on August 17 due to the evangelistic discussion next week.
YANCHEP BEACH MISSION
Yes, it’s on again! Planning is underway for the Yanchep family festival, happening from the 3rd to the 10th of January 2009. Many from our sister churches help out with this event. If you are interested in knowing more, please see the insert to the bulletin and intend to go to the first meeting on August 10.
STAMPS FOR LEPROSY MISSION
What do you do with the envelopes you receive in the mail when they are empty? Throw them away? Put them to better use – donate the used stamps to the leprosy mission! You can place old envelopes with stamps on them into the marked box near the windows at the back of the church hall. If you do tear off the stamps, remember there needs to be a border of 1 centimetre all around the stamp. For more information, please speak to Jan or Heather.
PERTH WOMEN’S CONVENTION
The Perth Women’s Convention is a one day conference for women of all ages aimed at encouraging and building up women through the faithful teaching of God’s Word. This year’s conference is entitled ‘Snapshots from the Kingdom’ and will include 3 Bible talks by Maxine Cook on Matthew’s gospel. There are registration forms available on the table near the door.
TIME MANAGEMENT “STUFF”
A young boy came to Sunday School late. His teacher knew that he was usually very prompt and asked him if anything was wrong. The boy replied no, that he was going fishing but his dad told him that he needed to go to church. The teacher was very impressed and asked the boy if his dad had explained
to him why it was more important to go to church than to go fishing? The boy replied, “Yes he did. Dad said he didn’t have enough bait for both of us.”

A church wanted to help their congregation cope better with the stresses of modern life, and decided to offer a course in Time Management. Soon after the course was announced, a member telephoned the Pastor. “What time does the course start, Pastor?” The Pastor replied, “Oh… six-ish, seven-ish….”

A little girl went to church for the first time. As she was leaving with her parents, the minister asked how she had liked church. “I liked the music,” she replied, “but the commercial was too long.”

Just a gentle reminder that it would be great to have you all in church by 10am, our regular starting time. It helps those who are organising the various ministries, encourages those who are here on time, and is a sign of respect for our God. Not to mention that it helps stop our visiting preacher’s confusion as they wonder where everyone is!! We are all able to get to work or uni in time. Doesn’t church deserve the same? And there is no rush hour!
A tip for those of you who struggle with parking is to drive straight down to to Stirling St - only 2 streets away, where there are always many parking spots, and then enjoy the relaxing 2 min. walk to church.
