MAUREEN’S HOLIDAYS
Maureen, our church secretary, is on a well-deserved break in Sydney until November 20. In that time, Alice Leong is preparing the folders for our musicians and doing some basic office tasks.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING IN TWO WEEKS
We will have a congregational meeting after the service on November 23. Please plan to come along to hear what is happening at All Nations and to pray and plan together for the coming year. This is an important time in the life of our church.
Please also consider if there are any men who you think would be suitable to serve the church in the office of elder or deacon.
ALL NATIONS NEEDS A TREASURER!
As most of you know, Saileng Lee has been acting as our treasurer for two years now. The church would like to find someone else who can volunteer to help the church in this important role in order to relieve Saileng. You do not need to be an accountant, and the role is not as scary as it sounds. Maureen pays all the bills and writes all the cheques that are required, and even updates the accounting software we use. The church just needs someone to oversee this and help us prepare budgets and reports for the congregation. Please consider this seriously and pray about it, and talk to Saileng or to one of the elders if you are interested in serving in this way.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS
There is government legislation that requires all people who work with children, either on an employed or voluntary basis, to hold a current working with children (WWC) check. All of our current Sunday School teachers either have or are applying for a WWC check. But this is also required for everyone on the crèche roster. If you help out in crèche and you do not have a WWC check, please see Simon. The church can provide the forms and reimburse you for the cost ($10). This is not just an important government regulation, it is important that we do all we can to ensure the safety of our children.
UPDATE ON SUDAN WORK
Samuel Riek whom we have previously supported in his work rebuilding Southern Sudan is going to come to show us some of the work that has been completed recently. This will happen immediately after the service next week (the 16th). Please plan to stay (it will not be a long presentation) and talk to Samuel.
