Faith: Is it a leap in the dark?

Has science killed God?  Many people think believing in God falls into the same category at thinking the earth is flat and leeches cure diseases. We can think that science is all about evidence, while faith is just blind trust in something with no evidence or real logic to it.

John 20Open Link in New Window has some useful things to say to us about this.  We see two accounts of the risen Jesus appearing to his disciples.  One of them, Thomas, doesn’t see Jesus the first time and doubts he has really risen from the dead.  But Jesus reveals himself to Thomas and his objections fall away. We are often hard on Thomas, but Jesus does not condemn him. In fact, we are told there is a link between evidence and faith (John 20:30-31Open Link in New Window). The reason we have historical accounts of Jesus is so that we can have foundation to believe.  Yes, there is faith required, but it is a reasonable faith that lines up with the evidence of Jesus who died and rose again.

You can see the gospel of John as a scientific study supporting Jesus being the Great King of the World. Only this King can bring you fulfilment and an eternity with God. Scientific studies support this statement!  When you get tempted to think Jesus is weak, or other things can really bring you fulfilment, consider the evidence we have in the Bible.
